Ray Wind Funds Community Research

I am delighted this week to have handed over a research report for the Ray Wind Funds. I have worked with local freelancer Helen Crow on this contract and together we have carried out research to help the Ray Wind Funds review their first five years of funding and understand local needs.

Our research included stakeholder consultation with organisations and agencies active in the Ray Wind Funds area of benefit, questionnaires to capture feedback from individuals, young people and previous grant recipients, a Director’s workshop, a community drop in event and desktop research to learn from a wider range of organisations.

It has been a really interesting project to work on and has highlighted many of the highs and lows of living in the heart of England’s most rural county. This area is undeniably beautiful but the isolation during the pandemic, recent storms and the emerging fuel crisis have created unique challenges for remote communities.

Our report has made recommendations for future distribution of funds which will now be considered by the Directors.
