#5yearsfreelance I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed by the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to help them develop a full application to the Heritage Lottery Fund for the Coast Care project. By chance, I found myself (with the dogs) in the AONB today.
Walking from Howick to Sugar Sands, I had to stop for a moment to take in the spectacular view. I challenge anyone to show me better beaches than those we have on the Northumberland coast. Whilst walking back, slightly in land and between fields of sheep, I was accompanied by the incredible sound of a skylark singing in the still air. Two bright yellowhammers caught my attention perched on a wire. And, again, the views… truly awesome.
As I finished my short walk, I was thinking, ‘yes, this area really is outstanding, natural and beautiful’ and I can’t wait to get stuck into my new project and inspire others to celebrate, enjoy and look after it.
