Pulling Out All the Stops
September 12, 2016After an amazing 16 day family holiday in Cornwall we’re back into the school routine and I’m easing myself back into work gently…
Who am I kidding? I’m like a rabbit in the headlights staring at my google calendar full of appointments that I feel unprepared for and finding it hard to get motivated to face them. This time last week (give or take a few hours) I was eating takeaway in a spherical treehouse on the edge of Bodmin Moor! I feel like we did everything I write about in funding bids – we disabled email notifications, mainly left phones/tablets behind and got outside to explore. Nine year old Fred discovered the sea (a bit warmer than in Northumberland) and we sought out and soaked up the stunning landscape, cream teas, fresh food and sun. It’s difficult to leave the memories of family meals, body boarding, rock climbing, pony trekking, laughter, sunbathing, books etc behind and get back to the laptop.
But, I have some great projects ahead of me over the next few months – just need to get my brain in gear to face them. In the meantime, I’m not quite willing to give up on my holiday memories just yet…here are some photos of the Williams family discovering heritage in Cornwall.
