Leeds Urban Forest

I spend a lot of time in Leeds with my son but we rarely venture into the city. Unusually, last week we stayed in the city and had a chance to explore Leeds City Centre. When we stumbled across the Leeds Urban Forest, I wasn’t quite sure what to make. It created a pretty impressive space – the wood was beautiful.

I had to google what it was all about and I found this in the Yorkshire Evening Post…

“Making A Stand is one of 12 signature projects commissioned as part of LEEDS 2023 and is inspired by the city’s origins as a forested area called Leodis over a thousand years ago, which gave rise to the name Leeds.”

It certainly made me think and it was quite a moving space to be in.
